The unique structure of the Taj mahal was designed on the back of a beautiful love story. At the death of the emperor’s favourite wife, during the birth of their 14th child, the emperor placed the whole of India into a state of mourning for 2 years then decided to construct ‘the most beautiful building in the world’ as a tribute to his beloved wife. Built mainly from white marble, this precious stone gives it a shimmering array of colour that changes at different times of day.
Edinburgh Castle
Edinburgh Castle is considered the most important piece of architecture in Scotland, being the capital of our great country and also where our royalty once presided, it dates back as early as the 9th century. It is a popular destination for foreigners and Scots alike. Scotland has a complex and intriguing past and many of our most interesting stories can be traced back to the walls of this major stronghold, such as; the Scottish war of independence and the Jacobite Rising. It architectural brilliance is only bettered by it beauty in the twilight of the day where the natural light coupled with the castles illuminations make it a sight to behold and cherish.
