Sahara Desert is the largest desert in the world covering 3,500,000 square miles and spanning most of North Africa with sand dunes reaching 180 metres in height. The Sahara desert is one of the harshest landscapes in the world with droughts sometimes lasting years and north easterly winds creating frequent sand storms. The little wildlife is dominated by domesticated camels and goats with scorpions, lizards, snakes and wild dogs.
The Scottish Highlands are a rugged and mountainous region in the north and west of Scotland hosting the largest mountain in the United Kingdom, Ben Nevis. It is sparsely populated due to the harsh terrain and is recognised as one of the least populated places in Europe and is claimed to even rival the Sahara desert. It is home to ancient rocks, cliff faces, deep lochs and glacier scarred mountain ranges
